Casa K'ojom is a private, educational, non-profit research center and museum, dedicated to research, preservation, and dissemination of traditional music
of the Mayan communities from Guatemala.
Since 1984, founder and current Director Samuel Franco A. has done extensive field work, through several expeditions to different Maya areas during their
local Patron Saint celebrations and other rituals, recording their music and photographing their contemporary ceremonies. Creating an important audiovisual
archive, which includes sound recordings, photographs and video footage.
Research, preservation and dissemination of traditional Mayan music and dance and related practices.
Increase appreciation, practice and safeguarding of traditional music as part of the Mayan Intangible Cultural Heritage through educational programs,
activities and publications.
